Frequently Asked Questions:
What kind material your mouldings
are made from?
·
Our
mouldings are made from MDF only. (Medium Density Fibre board)
Does HDF moulding
exist?
·
Recently we have noticed a number of customers inquiring about HDF crown moulding as a better alternative to MDF molding. Don't be misled by companies advertising HDF crown moulding since it does not exist. Although HDF exists as a material and typically used in manufacturing laminate flooring, doors, cabinets etc,. it cannot be shaped into a crown molding due to it's material properties. (Medium Density Fibre board)
What
sizes are available?
·
We
have 4”, 5”, 7” mouldings.
Why choose MDF?
· MDF
Moulding is less expensive than plaster, but finished product looks
identical to plaster moulding. With MDF there is no mess and damage to the
walls. We suggest not to use Polyurethane moulding since it is very soft and
looks bumpy and wavy after installation.
How is the moulding installed?
·
Moulding is nailed with air gun to the frame of the house.
How long does the installation take?
·
We
can install 350 – 500ft in just one day.
Is there damage and mess due to installation?
· Installation is very clean, since we use drop sheets, and cutting process is
done outside, there is completely no damage to the walls or any surfaces.
What is the purpose of Crown Moulding?
· Crown Moulding makes any room stand out, and well balanced. It adds richer
style to any home and increases property value by up to $10,000
What kind of surface moulding can be installed on?
· Moulding can be installed over brick and concrete walls, but takes extra
labour. Dry wall and stucco are the most common types of surfaces, (stucco
doesn’t have to be removed for moulding to be installed)
Can you describe installation process?
· First an estimator must come in and take measurements, let the customer
pick one of the samples, price the project and schedule an installation day.
On the day of installation a team will come in to install the moulding,
number of installers depends on the complexity of the project since we try
to finish every job same day.
Does your moulding crack and separate?
· No
our moulding doesn’t separate or crack, only incorrectly installed moulding
will develop cracks and seams. We can guarantee professional installation,
our moulding comes in 14’ long pieces and eliminates unnecessary joints.
